Shreveport scored early and often, putting 14 runs on the board after just three innings, to knock off Pensacola 16-8. 1B Al Corbeil and C Justin Humphries combined for four hits and eight RBI to account for half of the Sports' runs. CF Coby Smith and 3B Melvin Falu each had three hits in the game to add to the potent Shreveport offense. Falu and Humphries homered in the game, their sixth and seventh of the season respectively. Relief pitcher Derek Cunningham picked up the win, pitching three shutout innings in relief of starting pitcher T.J. Hendricks. Pensacola had a good night at the plate as well, with four different batters getting at least two hits in the game.

Fort Worth 9, St. Joe 7

Fort Worth C Kris Zacuto went 2-for-4 with three RBI to help the Cats past St. Joe 9-7. RF Matt Spencer and 1B Chuck Carter each had two hits and an RBI in the game to add to the Cats offense. Relief pitcher Dan Grybash picked up his sixth win of the season and closer Steve Wilkerson pitched a scoreless ninth inning to record his 19th save. St. Joe, which out hit Fort Worth 13-11, had five batters with at least two hits in the game. 3B Ben Thomas and LF Cory Harris each had two hits and two RBI for the Blacksnakes.

Lincoln 11, Sioux City 4

Lincoln hammered out 19 hits en route to a blowout victory over Sioux City 11-4. RF Bryan Warner and 1B Brett Cooley combined for six hits and eight RBI to lead the Saltdogs at the plate. Cooley homered in the game, his 15th of the year. CF Evan Tartaglia added four hits of his own to the powerful Lincoln attack as well. Starting pitcher Brian Rodaway allowed three runs in the first inning, but settled down after that to go five innings and pick up the win. With the win, Rodaway improved to 7-3 on the season. For Sioux City, C Chris Grossman went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Coastal Bend 13, El Paso 1 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

Coastal Bend put together a nine run fifth inning to blow the game open and cruise to a 13-1 rout of El Paso in the first game of the doubleheader. Seven different Aviators batters had at least two hits in the game, with RF Pat O'Sullivan and SS Jaime Landin leading the way. O'Sullivan went 2-for-4 with a homerun and five RBI, while Landon tallied four hits and drove in a run of his own. Starting pitcher Ricky Stover was as effective as the offense, pitching all seven innings and giving just one run on five hits to pick up his fifth win of the season.
