This game has been suspended due to rain and will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Monday, July 31 at 7:05 CT in El Paso, TX. The completion of the suspended game with go nine innings while the regular scheduled game will go seven innings.

Lincoln went out to a 5-0 through three innings and cruised to a victory over Sioux Falls behind a strong pitching performance by Jeff Blitstein. Blitstein went the distance today allowing no runs on six hits with three strikeouts. The win by the right hander was his sixth of the season and helped the Saltdogs improve to 15-9 in the second half. LF Pichi Balet aided Blitstein at the plate by going 4-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI, including his fifth and sixth home runs of the season. For the Canaries, RF John Schmitz was the man at plate with a 2-for-3 outing.

Sioux City 11, St. Paul 9

The game appeared to be over after Sioux City took an 11-0 lead halfway through the fifth inning, but in the end the double-digit offensive output was barely enough. St. Paul came surging back, scoring once in the fifth, sixth and seventh and capping an impressive rally with six more runs in the eighth. The Saints fell just two runs short of catching the Explorers, though, and fell to 10-13 in the second half. Sioux City hit five of the games eight total home runs led by 3B Ryan Gripp who was 3-for-5, including two homers, with two runs scored and four runs batted in.

Shreveport 2, St. Joe 0

Shreveport got a great start from Ryan Snyder who tossed seven shutout innings while allowing just four hits to improve to 5-5 on the year. Sport CF Neb Brown, who finished 2-for-4, scored both runs in the game. He got a one-out single in the first inning and, after stealing second, advanced to third on a throwing error and scored on a sacrifice fly. Brown singled again to lead off the sixth and moved to third on the single from LF Todd Self that followed. Brown then scored on another sacrifice fly. Closer Aaron Cunningham came on to record the two-inning save, his fourth, allowing just one hit to the seven hitters he faced.
