Coastal Bend and Fort Worth were rained out and will play a doubleheader on Thursday, with the first game starting at 5:05 p.m.

Sioux City built an early lead and held off a St. Paul rally to defeat the Saints 5-4. The Explorers scored four runs in the second inning, courtesy of RBI singles from RF Mike Richardson and 2B Robert Mendoza, an RBI double by J.J. Burress and an RBI groundout by CF Zach Pace. After Sioux City scored a run in the third to go up 5-1, St. Paul scored single runs in the fifth, seventh and ninth innings, but couldn't tie the game. 2B Josh Renick went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI for the Saints.

Pensacola 7, Sioux Falls 6

Pensacola rallied to erase a 5-0 deficit and edge Sioux Falls 7-6. Up 1-0, the Canaries scored four runs in the fifth inning on a two-run single from LF Chad Hermansen and a two-run double by 1B Abner Arroyo; the Pelicans responded with a three-run sixth, a run in the seventh and three more in the eighth on two singles, two errors and a walk. Trino Aguilar and Drake Wade were each credited with an RBI as Juan Rocha, Larry Bethea and Aguilar all came around to score in the inning.

Shreveport exploded for eight runs in the seventh inning to rout El Paso 9-0. The big inning saw six consecutive singles at one point and nine hits overall, eight of them singles. It was more than enough for Sports starter Erik Wikstrom, who got the win by scattering four hits over six innings of work, and then handing the reins to Derek Cunningham, who limited the Diablos to one hit over the final three innings. Five different players had two hits for Shreveport, including 2B Neb Brown, who was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
