Sioux City pitcher J.D. Scholten pitched all five innings played today to complete the 8-0 victory as Sioux City and Sioux Falls finished yesterday's suspended game. Scholten allowed five hits and no runs en route to his third victory of season. 1B Dan Meier went 2-for-5 with a homerun and four RBI to lead the Explorers at the plate. Sioux Falls 1B Abner Arroyo and 3B Chris Hall both went 2-for-4 to provide some offense for the Canaries in the losing cause.

Sioux City 7, Sioux Falls 2(Game 2 - 7 innings)

HR: SF-Dennis Anderson (3); SC-Dan Meier (4), Kevin Henry (8), Mike Richardson (3)

Sioux City scored seven runs on seven hits to knock off Sioux Falls and complete the two game sweep. Starting pitcher Aaron Marsden allowed just one run on four hits over six innings to pick up the win for the Explorers. DH Kevin Henry hit his eighth homerun of the year and went 2-for-3 with two RBI to lead Sioux City at the plate. 1B Dan Meier and RF Mike Richardson also added a homerun apiece to the Explorers attack. Sioux Falls DH Dennis Anderson went 1-for-3 with a homerun in the losing effort.

Shreveport 9, Pensacola 2

RF Austin Easley went 2-for-5 with a homerun, triple and two RBI to lead Shreveport past Pensacola 9-2. The homerun was Easley's sixth of the season. Sports 3B Melvin Falu added two hits and two RBI of his own. Starting pitcher T.J. Hendricks surrendered just two runs over 7 2/3 innings on the way to his second win of the season for Shreveport. 1B Tim Dorn went 2-for-4 and scored one of the Pensacola runs in the losing cause.

Coastal Bend 8, Fort Worth 7

After allowing Fort Worth to score three runs in the top of the ninth inning to tie the game, Coastal Bend scored a run in the bottom of the inning to take the win 8-7. Closer James Lira picked up the win in relief to go to 2-0 on the season. RF Rodney Medina went 1-for-3 with three RBI to lead the Aviators at the plate. RF Carlos Adolfo hit his fifth homer of the year and went 3-for-5 with two RBI to lead Fort Worth offensively. Fort Worth had 17 hits in the losing effort.

St. Paul 7, St. Joe 6 (10 innings)

@ St. Joseph, MO. Time: 3:29 Attendance: 813

W: Matt Hammons (2-1) L: Jamie Tricoglou (3-3) S: Matt Pike (1)

HR: SP-Victor Rodriguez 2(2,3); SJ-Mikalea Dworken (1)

3B Victor Rodriguez hit two solo homeruns and went 4-for-5 to push St. Paul past St. Joe 7-6 in extra innings. C Jeremy Frost added three hits and an RBI for the Saints as well. Relief pitcher Matt Hammons got the win after giving up just one run in two innings of work. Reliever Matt Pike notched his first save of the year in the game. 1B Mark Burke went 3-for-4 with three RBI to lead St. Joe at the plate and C Mikalea Dworken hit his first homer of the year in the losing effort.

Lincoln 7, El Paso 2

HR: LN-Jose Torres (3), Kevin Sullivan (1)

LF Jose Torres and C Kevin Sullivan combined for five hits, four RBI and two homeruns to lift Lincoln past El Paso 7-2. The Saltdogs offense had 13 hits in the game. Starting pitcher Ben Fox picked up the win for Lincoln, going six strong innings and allowing just one earned run. The win improved Fox's record to 5-1 on the season. 3B J.P. Schmidt went 2-for-3 and drove in both El Paso runs.
