Luke Massetti allowed just one earned run in seven innings to lead Shreveport-Bossier to a 2-1 win over Pensacola. Massetti surrendered six hits and struck out one to earn the victory and improve to 5-1. Kyle Middleton was the hard luck loser for the Pelicans as he struck out six and allowed one earned run on eight hits. His record now stands at 4-2. Justin Dowdy worked a perfect ninth inning for the Captains and struck out two of the three men he faced to earn his ninth save. The top of the Captains lineup led the way offensively as three of the first four hitters had multi-hit games.

Tom Buske turned in an excellent pitching performance as he tossed seven scoreless innings to lead St. Paul to a 4-0 win at Ft. Worth. Buske allowed five hits and three walks while striking out two to improve his record to 2-1 with the win. Saints 1B Jason Cooper went 2-for-4 with two RBI and 2B Alex Fonseca homered and scored twice in a 2-for-4 effort. Ryan Riddle went seven innings for Ft. Worth and allowed three earned runs on five hits and five walks. He struck out five but took the loss to drop to 4-5 on the season. Cats DH Pat O'Sullivan finished 2-for-3 with a walk in the loss.

Lincoln 7, Sioux City 4

1B Phil Hawke hit a three-run homer in the top of the first inning and the Saltdogs never looked back on their way to a 7-4 win over Sioux City. Hawke added a RBI double later in the game to finish with four batted in. Lincoln starter Zach Cline pitched six solid innings and allowed two runs on seven hits. With the win he improved his record to 4-2. Nick Singleton went seven innings for the Explorers and struck out six. He allowed four earned runs and took the loss to fall to 5-4. Sioux City DH Alex Llanos went 3-for-4 with three RBI in a losing effort.

Wichita 9, Sioux Falls 7

HR: SF- Cody Haerther (1), Cory Harris (7)

Wichita broke out to an early 5-0 lead and withstood a big ninth inning rally to top Sioux Falls 9-7. Will Savage pitched the first five innings for the Wingnuts and allowed two runs on five hits. He got the win to even his mark at 4-4. SS Josh Horn and 2B Brenan Herrera had big games offensively for Wichita as they combined for five hits, four RBI, and three runs scored. Four other Wichita hitters had two or more hits in the contest. LF Cody Haerther homered for Sioux Falls as did CF Cory Harris who hit a grand slam in the ninth inning to draw the Canaries within two runs. But Wichita summoned closer Joe D'Alessando from the bullpen and he recorded the final out for his third save.
