Winnipeg 6 Lincoln 5 (11 Innings - Completion of Suspended Game from September 5th)
Winnipeg SS Casio Grider singled home RF Tillman Pugh with the game winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning as the Goldeyes beat the Lincoln Saltdogs, 6-5. Grider finished the contest 2-for-5 with a run scored and a RBI while CF Reggie Abercrombie had a pair of doubles in the five at-bats along with two runs scored and a RBI. Winnipeg LF Adam Heisler also chipped in with two hits and two stolen bases. Goldeyes pitcher Jailen Peguero notched his fifth victory in relief. Peguero tossed 1 2/3 innings allowing a hit and a walk while striking out three batters.
Winnipeg 8, Lincoln 1 (Regularly Scheduled Game)
It was all Winnipeg in this contest, as the Goldeyes banged out 13 hits and rolled to an 8-1 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs. Winnipeg had five hitters with multi-hit games, including DH Luis Alen who went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and four RBI. Goldeyes CF Reggie Abercrombie had three hits and a pair of RBI while 3B Brad Boyer and LF Tillman Pugh each collected two hits and plated two runs. Starting pitcher Edwin Carl was sensational for Winnipeg this afternoon. Carl tossed a complete game giving up an earned run on six hits and striking out 10 batters in 129 pitches. With the victory, the righty is now 6-1 on the year.
Grand Prairie 4, Wichita 1
Grand Prairie scored three runs in the third inning to break a 1-1 tie and would go on to a 4-1 win over the Wichita Wingnuts. AirHogs 2B Ridge Hoopii-Haslam went 2-for-5 on the day with a run scored and a RBI while RF Ronnie Richardson had two hits in four at-bats along with three stolen bases. Grand Prairie 3B Victor Diaz chipped in with a pair of RBI and C Michael Pair collected two hits and a run batted in. AirHogs starting pitcher Zachary Dando tossed five innings to pick up his fifth win of the year. Dando allowed an unearned run and struck out three batters. For Wichita in defeat, CF Nick Van Stratten went 2-for-4 and scored a run.
Gary SouthShore 3, Kansas City 0
Gary SouthShore starting pitcher Travis McGee and reliever Andy Roberts combined a five-hit shutout as the RailCats defeated the Kansas City by a 3-0 final. McGee went the first 6 2/3 innings giving up a walk and four hits while striking out seven batters. The righty earned the win and improved his record to 3-2 on the season. Roberts tossed the final 2 1/3 innings allowing a hit and a walk and fanning two hitters. For Gary SouthShore offensively, 2B Alex Hernandez had a 1-for-2 day with a run scored and CF Anthony Cheky and 3B Spencer Mahoney each drove in a run.
