Kansas City 2, Fargo-Moorhead 1
The T-Bones took a matinee contest over the RedHawks at Newman Outdoor Field. Kansas City scored twice in the first inning and did not look back en route to taking the win. 2B Danny Richar reached on a walk with one out and DH Matt Padgett promptly launched a two-run home run.
Fargo 1B C.J. Retherford singled in the seventh, went to second on a balk, third on a groundout and scored on an RBI single by C Travis Higgs. The run halved the deficit but it was not enough for the RedHawks. Retherford had two hits in the game, the only player on either side with multiple hits.
RHP Kyle DeVore threw seven strong innings for the T-Bones, striking out two. The save went to All-Star LHP Kris Regas, who struck out a hitter over an inning and 2/3.
