Fargo-Moorhead 12, Winnipeg 9
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks powered past the Winnipeg Goldeyes 12-9 on Monday at Newman Outdoor Field.
Both teams put five runs on the board in the second inning but the RedHawks took control in the bottom of the fifth. The Goldeyes took the 9-8 lead in the top of the fifth as C Sonny Ulliana hit a sac fly and LF Jay Gonzalez (4-for-5) added an RBI single. In the home half, C Kevin Krause (2-for-4) doubled home 2B Manuel Boscan and CF Alex Boxwell and then scored on a single from 3B Leobaldo Pina (3-for-4). Pina scored on a single from RF John Silviano (2-for-5).
For the RedHawks, 1B Correlle Prime and LF Jordan George each had three hits on the day and George added three RBIs. For the Goldeyes, Gonzalez had two doubles and three RBIs.
