St. Louis Ambush News Release

St. Charles, MO - The St. Louis Ambush take to the road for back-to-back games this weekend. On Friday evening, the Ambush (4-8) visit the Independence Events Center to clash with the Missouri Comets (8-5) at 7:35 p.m. CT. Less than 24 hours later, the Ambush visit U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee to battle the first-place Wave (9-2) at 6:00 p.m. CT. Fans can watch both game live on YouTube.

St. Louis is presently in fifth place, three and a half games behind the Comets, who presently have a firm grasp on the fourth of four playoff spots. With just eight regular season games remaining, the Ambush need a good showing this weekend to keep their postseason hopes from fading. If they are to make the playoffs, the Ambush have much of their fate in their own hands, as they tangle with the Comets three more times (including Friday's game) before the end of the regular season.

In two games last weekend, the Ambush lost a 14-2 contest to the Baltimore Blast on January 17, then handed the Pennsylvania Roar their first-ever victory when the Roar shut out the Ambush 16-0 on January 19. After being outscored 30-2 between those two contests, the Ambush will need to find a way to rejuvenate their offense and bolster their defense if they are to turn things around.

Friday's match will be the fourth of six meetings between the Ambush and Comets during the 2013-14 regular season. The Comets won the first three games, 28-7, 12-10 and 24-13. Saturday's duel with the Wave is the third of six between the two teams. The Wave won the first two encounters, 24-4 and 13-11. Following this weekend, the Ambush will face the Comets again in Independence on February 22 and at the Family Arena on February 27. The Ambush have three more games against the Wave after this weekend; on February 1 and 21 at the Family Arena and on March 1 in Milwaukee.

The Ambush, presented by Simmons First National Bank, have four regular season home games remaining and good seats are available for all four. For more information, visit the team's website, stlouisambush.com or call the Ambush office at 636-922-2255.
