Rochester Lancers News Release
(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester Lancers (4-9) will be traveling this weekend as they prepare for back-to-back games on the road. The first match will take place on Friday January 24th against the Pennsylvania Roar with kickoff set for 7:05 p.m. The Lancers will then take on the defending league champion Baltimore Blast the following night, Saturday, January 25th beginning at 7:35 p.m.
Rochester picked up their fourth win of the season last weekend as they knocked off the Syracuse Silver Knights 16-14 at the Blue Cross Arena. Irondequoit native and defender Jake Schindler scores a pair of goals and earned MISL Team of the Week honors for his efforts in the match.
The Lancers have earned home wins in each of the two previous matchups against the Roar. Rochester has limited Pennsylvania to just seven points in the first two outings. The Roar however earned their first victory of the season the last time they took the field, knocking off the St. Louis Ambush in impressive fashion, winning 16-0. Rochester has dropped each of the two matches against the Blast this season. Midfielders Max Ferdinand and Tony Donatelli combine to make a dangerous duo with 27 and 26 points respectively.
