Allentown Ambassadors News Release
The Allentown Ambassadors traded shortstop Ricky Gomez to the Central League's Fort Worth Cats for shortstop Winter Adames, team officials announced today.
Gomez, a career .235 hitter, was acquired in an off-season trade with the St. Paul Saints of the Northern League. Adames is a career .254 hitter who has been limited by a shoulder injury the last two seasons. The move allowed Gomez to reunite with some of his former coaches from St. Paul and allowed the Brooklyn native Adames to play much closer to home.
The Ambassadors will be holding open tryouts May 3rd and 4th at 9 A.M. at Bicentennial Park. Participants need to bring their gear and $30. The Ambassadors' season begins with the home opener on May 22nd at 7:05 against the Bangor Lumberjacks. For ticket information, call (610) 437-6800.
