Amarillo Venom Practice with the Stinnett Fighting Irish

Amarillo,TX 9/19/11- The Amarillo Venom visited the TCY Stinnett fighting Irish last Thursday September 15, to present them with their Favorite Local Football Team certificate. The TCY Fighting Irish of Stinnett 5th and 6th grade football team received over 500 votes, winning the contest that was held on the new Amarillo Venom Facebook page. Second place went to the White Deer Bucks with 358 votes.
"The support these young players have is incredible," said Owner/General Manager Stephanie Tucker. "We were expecting a high school team to win and this team of 5th and 6th graders came out of the wood works and blew the competition away."
Amarillo Venom player Jared Williams and Owner Stephanie Tucker traveled to Stinnett Thursday evening to attend the Fighting Irish football practice held at the middle school. Williams presented the team with their framed team picture with the title Favorite Local Football Team. Williams also gave an encouraging pep talk to the team for their upcoming game Saturday against Fritch.
The 3rd and 4th grade football teams were also practicing at the middle school and also got to meet Williams and hear his pep talk and words of advice for the young players.
"Work hard," said Williams. "Listen to your parents and coaches, work hard and you will go places in life."
The Amarillo Venom is looking forward to the support of not only Amarillo fans but also the surrounding area fans for the upcoming season, and encourages all fans to join them for upcoming events.
The TCY Fighting Irish went on to beat Fritch bringing them to a 3-0 record.
The AMARILLO VENOM is a proud member of the Indoor Football League.
