Amarillo, TX 1/3/10 - The Amarillo Gorillas skated a complete game Sunday, earning the 3-1 win versus the Tulsa Oilers.

Amarillo jumped out to the quick lead in the opening period, scoring 28-seconds into the game. Forward Jason Chafe slipped his shot from the far circle past Oilers goaltender Kevin Armstrong for his third goal of the season. Amarillo 1 Tulsa 0 after the first.

Tulsa's Aaron Davis scored the Oilers' first goal of the game from the far wall, tying the game at one. Amarillo countered 28 seconds later when Joe Guenther notched his fifteenth goal of the season. Gorillas netminder Tuomas Lohtander provided stellar play in the frame, stopping all 23 Tulsa shots on goal. End of two, Amarillo 2 Tulsa 1.

Gorillas forward Jason Beeman notched the only goal of the third period, scoring his nine goal of the season around the midway point. Final score, Amarillo 3 Tulsa 1.

The Gorillas move to 11-1 when scoring the game's first goal.With an assist, Nimmo continued his torrid point pace, earning 7 points (6-1-7) over his last 4 games.Tuomas Lohtander made 38 saves for his third straight victory.Amarillo's point streak is now at 7 straight games.

Amarillo will hit the road Monday night to face the Arizona Sundogs this Wednesday, January 6th. The game will be broadcasted on 1440 AM ESPN Radio and CHL-TV beginning at 7:55pm CST. Fans will have an opportunity to win an autograph photo of Gorillas All-Star defenseman Andrew Smale during the second period of the game broadcast by answering a trivia question on the Gorillas' Facebook page.
