AMARILLO, TX - Versatility is something all young hockey players need in their game to be a major contributor to their team.

The Amarillo Bulls have added versatility to its future with the tendering of forward/defenseman Brycon Johnson (pronounced Bryson) for the 2014-15 season. He is the third tender announced by the club joining defenseman Matt Nehls and forward Patrick Choi.

Johnson, a native of St. Peters, Missouri has some North American Hockey League experience, playing in 32 games during the 2013-14 season. The 5-11, 185 pound forward had two goals and two assists for five points.

Johnson put up some excellent numbers playing for the St. Louis Jr. Blues in the NA3HL where he netted 28 goals and 25 assists for 53 assists in 40 games. He was also very effective in the post season with one goal and four assists for five points in three games. This season Johnson has suited up for the Granite City Lumberjacks in the NA3HL and has five points in two games.

"Brycon is a big kid who is very universal that can play both positions," said Bulls Director of Scouting Erik Blas�. "He is a very good puck moving forward, but also is a strong defenseman. He'll be a nice addition to our program and we are happy to have him."

The Amarillo Bulls close out a two game series in Corpus Christi against the IceRays tonight at American Bank Center at 7 pm. Fans can listen to the action live on CBS Sports Radio 1440, online at www.amarillobulls.com and on PPV courtesy of Fast Hockey, beginning with the Wayland Baptist University Warm Up Show at 6:40 pm. Amarillo Bulls hockey presented by Westgate Mall follows at 7 pm.

In just one week, the Amarillo Bulls hit the ice for a pair of home games at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center, facing the Lone Star Brahmas on Friday, Dec. 19 and Saturday, Dec. 20 at 7 pm. Fans are encouraged to wear their Ugliest Christmas sweater and they could win a prize. There will also be guest appearances by The Grinch and Cindy Lou Who. Saturday is the Toys For Tots Teddy Bear Toss presented by Walmart. Fans can bring a new or gently used teddy bear or stuffed animal to the game and when the Bulls score their first goal throw the toys onto the ice in support of this great cause. There will also be an appearance by Santa Claus.
