AMARILLO, TX - The second half of the NCAA hockey season is well underway as Amarillo Bulls Alumni have been busy with games getting their teams in playoff contention.
Robert Morris University split games with Bentley, winning 3-0 and then losing 1-0. Greg Gibson notched an assist in the victory.
Co-Captain Joe Kozlak score for Army in a 6-3 loss to UCONN. In that game, Garrett Peterson, Clint Clarisle and Brendan McGuire all had assists.
Forward TJ Sarcona notched an assist but Niagara lost 4-3 to Air Force. Canisius College nipped Holy Cross 2-1. Cody Freeman notched an assist for the Golden Griffins, while goaltender Paul Berrafato came in relief of the starter for Holy Cross and played well.
Union's Roman Ammirato had an assist they still lost 4-3 to Quinnipiac. Matt Johnson with a helper as Lake Superior State faced No. 1 ranked Minnesota State Mankato and dropped a 3-1 decision.
At the Division III level, Milwaukee School Of Engineering beat Wisconsin Stout 6-0 and then Wisconsin Superior 3-2. Forward Gage Christensen picked up one goal and three assists in the two games, while Omar Mullen had three helpers. Dan McNamara had a goal and an assist as St. John's beat Lawrence 6-3. Brendan Vetter had a goal and Blake Roubos had an assist in the loss.
Brett Szajner scored for Utica, his third of the season in a 3-1 win over Casselton. Trinity College bested Middlebury 3-1 as Ryan Cole set up one of those goals.
Meantime it's back at home for the Amarillo Bulls this Friday and Saturday as they face the Odessa Jackalopes at 7 pm at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. Friday is The People's Federal Credit Union Bobblehead night for the first 500 fans and Saturday is mini-cowbell giveaway presented by American Classified. Fans can come out and get their pictures taken with the characters of Toy Story and one lucky child could win a bicycle courtesy of Seven Bar and Grill.
Fans who buy their tickets at the Bulls Office located at 301 South Polk are eligible to get free children's meal with their purchase. The Bulls Office is also the place to inquire about the $5 section and the All You Can Eat Seats. Additional tickets can be purchased at the Civic Center Box Office and all Panhandle Ticket Outlets including United Supermarkets or online at www.panhandletickets.com.
