
Alumni Update: Newbury Signs with Capitals

WASHINGTON, DC - A former Bull and member of the 1999 OHL Championship team prior to finishing his OHL career in Sarnia,Kris Newbury has signed a one year, two-way contract with the Washington Capitals.
The well-traveled veteran enters his twelfth season in the professional ranks with stints in the Toronto, Detroit, New York Rangers and Philadelphia organizations after being drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the fifth round of the 2002 NHL Draft.
A native of Brampton, Newbury was the Bulls' first round draft pick in 1998 and played parts of two seasons in the Friendly City.
The feisty competitor has played in 662 career American Hockey League games, amassing 160 goals and 328 assists to go with 1539 penalty minutes. Newbury has played in 75 career NHL contests and registered 10 points.
