November 20, 2003 - NBA G League (G League)
Asheville Altitude News Release
Asheville, N.C., November 20, 2003 - The Asheville Altitude of the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) trimmed their roster from 12 to 10 players, setting the teams' 2003-2004 opening day roster, in an announcement made today by head coach Joey Meyer. Lavoris Jerry (E. Kentucky) and Jai Pradia (Pittsburg State) were waived following a 13-day preseason training camp.
"The final two cuts are always the hardest because you begin to learn how guys play and get to know them personally," said Coach Meyer. "It is not a matter of what these guys could or could not do, at the end of the day it comes down to picking 10 guys that make the best team."
The Altitude tips off their final preseason exhibition, Sunday, Nov. 23, against the University Louisville at Freedom Hall, beginning at 2:00 p.m. EST.
The Altitude opens the 2003-04 regular season Nov. 28 at Columbus, followed by the regular-season home opener against Huntsville on Nov. 30 as part of the "Mountain Hoops Tipoff" that will feature the UNC-Asheville men's and women's basketball teams at the Asheville Civic Center. The Altitude game will begin at 6:15 p.m.
