
Alley Cats Roll Over the Patroons

Anderson, IN (February 8, 2007) - The Indiana Alley Cats picked up a much-needed victory over the Albany Patroons tonight thanks to a huge game by Erick Barkley, 129-119. Barkley finished with 41 points on 16 of 23 shooting from the field and 8 assists. The two teams lived up to their billing as the highest scoring teams in the CBA. The Alley Cats picked up five quarter points.
Albany got out to a fast start and led 33-29 after one quarter of play. Indiana came back with a great second quarter and took a 69-62 lead into the half. The Alley Cats captured the third quarter and took an eleven point lead going into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, Albany head coach Michael Ray Richardson received his second technical of the game was and tossed with about 5 minutes to go. The Patroons' assistant coach wasn't on the road trip, so the players had to regroup on their own. They did a tremendous job for the rest of the quarter and wound up winning quarter by one point on a trey by T.J. Thompson with nine seconds to go.
Carl Edwards followed Barkley's lead in having a tremendous game. He had a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. J.J. Sullinger added 17 points, while newly acquired Chandler Thompson had 14 points and 6 rebounds in his first game with Indiana this season. Shaun Fountain tallied 11 points and 7 assists. The Alley Cats forced 28 turnovers on Albany and shot 51% from the field.
T.J. Thompson, the CBA's leading scorer, had 28 points and 8 assists to lead Albany. Kwan Johnson had a nice all-around game with 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Two other players from Albany finished with over 20 points as Chris Sockwell had 23 and Felipe Lopez had 21. Albany fell to 16-9 on the year.
