Indiana Fever News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - WNBA All-Stars Tamika Catchings and Katie Douglas lead a cast of 24 nominees in online and in-arena voting for the Indiana Fever All-Decade Team. Over 45,000 votes have been cast. The team will be announced on August 15 when the Fever hosts the Detroit Shock.

Balloting and sweepstakes continue through July 30 at FeverBasketball.com and at kiosks inside Conseco Fieldhouse. All registered voters are eligible for sweepstakes prizes. A 50" HDTV valued at $1,500 will be awarded as the grand-prize courtesy of hhgregg. Registration is free, and fans may vote as often as they like.

Currently responsible for the best record in the WNBA, the Fever's 2009 starters occupy five of the six top spots in the balloting. Catchings leads the voting (5,565) and Indianapolis native Douglas (4,458) holds the second position. Tully Bevilaqua (4,357) and Ebony Hoffman (4,274) occupy the third and fourth spots, and center Tammy Sutton-Brown (2,750) sits at sixth. The only non-current Fever player to possess a spot in the top five is Stephanie White (2,988), an Indiana schoolgirl legend, former Purdue star and one of the original members of the Indiana Fever. White is currently an assistant coach with the Chicago Sky.

Indiana Fever All-Decade Team balloting began in June in appreciation for the fans who have supported the team throughout its first nine seasons. Fans will select the 10 players who they feel have made the greatest contributions to the Indiana Fever, combining on-court performance with spirit and sportsmanship.
