Lakewood, NJ - The Cyclones returned to action with a bang on Friday night beating the Jersey Shore BlueClaws by the score of 10-3. Alex Ramirez went 4-for-5 with a run score, home run and five RBI to pace the Brooklyn bats and RHP Carson Seymour (1-5) tossed 6.0 solid frames, striking out 10 batters and allowing just three hits to collect the win for Brooklyn.

Brooklyn wasted little time on Friday evening, lighting up the scoreboard in the top of the first. Matt Rudick led off the game with a double and Nic Gaddis worked a two-out that put a pair of runners aboard for Alex Ramirez, who took advantage of the scoring chance with a three-run blast to centerfield to give the Cyclones and early lead. For Ramirez it was his first home run since joining the Cyclones and seventh overall.

Jersey Shore got on the board in the bottom of the second when Rixon Wingrove hit a solo shot to trim the Brooklyn lead to 3-1.

The Cyclones built on their lead in the third with an RBI groundout from Alex Ramirez and a sac fly from JT Schwartz to push the Brooklyn lead to 5-1.

The Blue Claws had two more solo homers - one from Freddy Francisco in the third and another from Ethan Wilson in the fourth - to make the score 5-3.

Carson Seymour allowed the three solo home runs for Brooklyn, but they were the only hits he allowed while striking out 10 for the Cyclones over his 6.0 innings on the mound. The righthander has now struck out 34 batters in 20.0 innings of work during the month of July.

Ramirez added a two-out RBI double in the fifth and Jose Mena tacked on an RBI single in the sixth to push the Brooklyn lead back to four runs at 7-3.

But the Brooklyn bats weren't done yet. JT Schwartz, who was 2-for-4 on the night with a pair of RBI, plated Nic Gaddis with an RBI single in the seventh and Rowdey Jordan added an RBI double in the eighth before scoring later in the frame on a passed ball to made the final score 10-3.

Brendan Hardy, Daison Acosta and Sammy Tavarez tossed 3.0 spotless frames to close out the win for the Cyclones.
