Albuquerque T-Birds Acquire Douthit, Waive Taylor

GREENVILLE, S.C., December 8 - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds have acquired center/forward Marcus Douthit from the NBA Development League available player pool and waived guard Marcus Taylor.

Douthit, 6-11, 240, was a second round (56th overall) selection of the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2004 NBA Draft out of Providence. He has been playing professionally in Belgium, where he averaged 8.6 points and 6.8 rebounds in 30 games for Verviers-Pepinster last season. As a senior at Providence, Douthit averaged 7.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.2 blocked shots per game. He finished his collegiate career ranked second all-time in blocks at Providence with 295 and seventh in the nation in blocked shots per game as a senior.

Taylor played in and started six games for the Thunderbirds, averaging 21.8 minutes, 7.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
