Oshawa FireWolves News Release
ALBANY, NY - The Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announce the return of the team's annual "PACK Gives Back" charity golf outing. The golf outing returns to the Normanside Country Club in Delmar on Monday, September 26 for its second year.
Proceeds from the golf outing will go directly to the FireWolves Foundation to support philanthropic efforts, to grow the game of Box lacrosse in the region and to give back to the Capital Region Community. Last year's inaugural golf outing raised over $15,000 to support the organization's community efforts, including offering scholarships, the purchase of equipment, and registration assistance to the Junior FireWolves programs.
The event will begin with an on-site registration at 8 a.m. followed by a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start in a four-person scramble. Sponsorship packages and foursomes are now available and include breakfast, greens fees, a cart, beverages on the course, a cocktail reception, and dinner immediately following play. To register, please contact George Manias at George@AlbanyFireWolves.com. Additional information regarding the outing, including sponsorship opportunities, can be found at www.AlbanyFireWolves.com/GolfOuting. The tournament nearly sold out in its inaugural year, so participants are encouraged to sign up as early as possible!
"It is hard to believe that it is that time of the year again," said George Manias, President of the FireWolves. "We have accomplished so much in our first year in the market, but nothing better than establishing our FireWolves Foundation and giving back to our community. This outing was such a great fundraiser and event last year and we intend to take it to another level this year. We look to include our coaches and players this year, while also bringing back all the great contests and prizes we all enjoyed last year. We also want to thank all those businesses and individuals who participated last year and hope to have them back again for this great event. We encourage anyone and everyone who can help support us to come on out for a great cause. Normanside Country Club is such a great golf course and partner, and we appreciate all they do to host this event and support the FireWolves all season long."
The FireWolves Foundation was initially funded by the FireWolves ownership group to support the Capital Region community. The FireWolves ownership group remains committed to the community and growing the sport of lacrosse, which will be a staple of the Foundation's efforts.
