Albany FireWolves News Release
ALBANY, NY - The Albany FireWolves, of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), today announce that the team will host two clinics on Friday, April 15 on the FireWolves Field located in the MVP Arena in Albany for lacrosse players of all ages who can learn from the FireWolves players and coaches. Each clinic costs $25 per participant and includes a free ticket to the FireWolves' next home game on April 16 against the Philadelphia Wings. FireWolves Head Coach, Glenn Clark, will join various FireWolves players to lead the clinics.
The first session will be from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and focus on the art of the faceoff. This clinic will be led by the FireWolves faceoff specialist, Joe Nardella, who currently leads the NLL in faceoff wins and win percentage. Players will have the opportunity to learn positioning, stance, technique, moves, footwork, body positioning, and much more from one of the best faceoff men in the NLL and the PLL.
The second of the two clinics will immediately follow the first, running from 1 - 4 p.m. Clark will be joined by FireWolves forward, Reilly O'Connor, and transition player, Tony Malcom, to run participants through the same drill progressions that the FireWolves players go through to prepare for games. This session will focus on all facets of the game, including offense, defense, transition, and special teams. The second clinic will be free of charge for any interested goalies.
"The FireWolves are excited to offer our local youth lacrosse players the opportunity to interact with our professional players," said George Manias, President of the FireWolves. "As our inaugural season comes to a close, we are committed to continue to get our players engaged in our community and help teach and grow the sport of box lacrosse. We will also be releasing information soon about our Junior FireWolves summer sessions and how local kids can get involved there."
