Albany FireWolves Acquire John Wagner from Las Vegas

ALBANY, NY - The Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) have acquired defenseman John Wagner and a Fourth Round Pick in the 2024 Entry Draft in a trade with the Las Vegas Desert Dogs in exchange for a First Round Pick in the 2024 Entry Draft and forward Cam Badour, pending league approval. The NLL Trade Deadline ends today, March 12 at 3 pm ET.

John Wagner is in his fourth NLL season and has accumulated 39 points (14G, 25A), 296 loose balls, and 68 caused turnovers in his career with the New Riptide, Rochester Knighthawks, and most recently with the Las Vegas Desert Dogs. The St. Davids, ON native played collegiately at Marquette University as well as for the Niagara Thunderhawks in the Ontario Jr. B Lacrosse League. He was drafted 34th overall in the 2019 NLL Draft by the New York Riptide. At 6'2" and 190 lbs., Wagner adds size, speed, and transition scoring to an already well rounded FireWolves defensive unit.

Cam Badour was drafted by the Saskatchewan Rush in the 2022 Entry Draft and was acquired by the FireWolves from the Rush via trade in exchange for a fourth-round selection in the 2024 NLL Entry Draft. Badour has been on the Practice Roster for the FireWolves during the 2023-24 season.

In a corresponding move, the FireWolves have placed defenseman Jackson Reid on the Practice Roster.
