- TODAY'S STORYLINES

Preseason Perfections: The Albany Devils concluded their preseason schedule with a 2-0 shutout victory against the Hartford Wolf Pack yesterday in Cromwell, CT. Ken Appleby made 26 saves and Brian Gibbons and Rod Pelley supplied the tallies. Karl Stollery notched a pair of helpers. Albany went 2-0-0-0 during their preseason schedule, defeating the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 4-1, last Thursday.

Devils Strengthen Offense: Late Friday, the New Jersey Devils assigned Joseph Blandisi and Nick Lappin to Albany. Blandisi split 2015-16 between Albany and New Jersey, producing 23 points (9g-14a) in 27 AHL games and 17 points (5g-12a) in 41 NHL contests. Lappin, who joined Albany at the end of last season on an ATO had seven points (3g-4a) in 12 regular-season games and seven points (5g-2a) in 11 postseason contests.

More Than Just Hockey: The Devils released their 2016-17 Promotional Schedule today and this year's calendar includes a mix of new and familiar promotions. During the Home Opener this Saturday the first 5,000 fans will receive a free magnet schedule (courtesy of CDTA). Other giveaways include a Devils' goalie mini stick on Saturday, Dec. 10, a player bobblehead (presented by Yankee Trail) on Saturday, Feb. 18 and a Devils/River Rats' water bottle (courtesy of the Times Union) on Saturday, Mar. 25.
