Albany Conquest to hold team jersey auction to benefit The Arthritis Foundation

Albany, N.Y., June 23, 2004 – As part of an effort to benefit The Arthritis Foundation, Northeastern New York Chapter, in a program that is sponsored by WURLD media, inc., the Albany Conquest will hold a silent auction of autographed team jerseys representing each current roster member at their next home game against the Green Bay Blizzard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday (June 25) at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y. In addition, former Shenendehowa High School standout Lee Bates' is pursuing his quest to play Global Football through a fundraiser with the Conquest.

The silent auction of autographed authentic game replica jerseys will begin from the moment that doors open at the Pepsi Arena at 6:30 p.m. until the end of the 3rd Quarter of the game. The winning auction bids and winners will be posted at the auction table on the Pepsi Arena concourse. The minimum bid on all autographed authentic game replica jerseys will be $75. A picture of one of the jerseys being auctioned, which has been signed by # 21 WR/DB Cy Butler is posted at www.albanyconquest.com.

A Conquest ticket fundraiser, in which friends and supporters of Lee Bates are selling advance tickets the June 25 Conquest game while keeping a portion of the profits, is helping to send Bates to Finland to allow him to pursue his dreams of football stardom. Bates is a football player at Alfred University seeking to play Global Football in Helsinki, Finland. He was a standout tailback at Shenendehowa High School. Lee will sign autographs at the Upstate GMC Dealers Pre-Game Tailgate Party on Pearl Street, which begins at 5:30 p.m. before the Conquest game on June 25.

The Albany Conquest's game on Friday, June 25 at 7:30 p.m. against the Green Bay Blizzard at Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y. will feature a full post-game concert by The Alabama Blues Brothers Band.
