
Alaska's Courchaine Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Adam Courchaine of the Alaska Aces is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Jan. 9-15.
The 22-year-old was 3-0-0 with one shutout, a 1.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .964 in three appearances last week.
Courchaine turned aside all 29 shots he faced in a 3-0 win against Stockton on Thursday and followed that up with 18 saves in a 3-1 victory against the Thunder on Friday. He ended the week with 23 saves in a 4-2 win over Stockton on Saturday.
A native of Kanata, Ontario, Courchaine is 12-1-3 with two shutouts, a league-leading 1.60 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage that is tied for the league lead.
Courchaine has appeared in 45 career ECHL games with Reading and Alaska, posting an overall record of 29-8-5 with six shutouts, a 2.17 goals-against average and a save percentage of .916.
Prior to turning pro, Courchaine appeared in 126 games over three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Ottawa, Sarnia and Erie posting a record of 50-60-8 with seven shutouts, a 3.25 goals-against average and a save percentage of .904. He has also appeared in four career American Hockey League games with Providence going 2-1-0 with a goals-against average of 2.06 and a .915 save percentage.
