Western New York Flash News Release
EDMONTON, AB - Western New York Flash forward Ajara Nchout Njoya and the Cameroon Women's National Team fell 1-0 to China PR on Saturday night in Edmonton, as China will move on to face the winner of USA vs. Colombia on Friday night.
Njoya, who scored Cameroon's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Japan on June 12, entered Saturday's Round of 16 match in the 64th minute, looking to help rally her team. The forward created some opportunities in the appearance, but Cameroon was unable to find the equalizer.
The first-year Flash player featured in all four of Cameroon's matches, helping lead her country to a second-place finish in Group C.
The Flash will be hosting a viewing party on Monday night for the U.S. Women's National Team's Round of 16 game versus the Colombians at Marshall Street Bar and Grill (81 Marshall Street, Rochester, NY 14607). The game, played at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium, kicks off at 8 p.m. ET.
