
AirHogs Re-Sign Slugger Andres Rodriguez

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The Grand Prairie AirHogs announced that the team has re-signed infielder Andres Rodriguez to a contract for the 2014 season.
Rodriguez batted .285 with 15 home runs and 66 RBI in 95 games for the AirHogs last season. He led the team in runs batted in as well as doubles (26).
The right-handed slugger led the AirHogs in 2012 with 15 home runs and 81 RBI. He batted .282 in 97 games and collected 105 hits which was third on the team.
In 2011, Rodriguez played for the Shreveport-Bossier Captains and hit .323 with 16 home runs and 74 RBI.
Rodriguez was born in San Cristobal, Dominican Republic and signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Mets organization and made it as high as Class A with St. Lucie in the Florida State League in 2004.
The Grand Prairie AirHogs open the 2014 season on Thursday, May 15 at Wichita.
