AirHogs Can't Hold off Cleburne Surge in Game 2

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The Texas AirHogs got out to an early 5-0 lead but could not hold on vs. the Cleburne RailRoaders Wednesday. Cleburne rallied to score 13 times from the fifth onward to steal a 13-5 win.

Texas got to Cleburne starter Patrick Mincey (1-9) for five runs in the third to jump out to the early edge. Casio Grider and Greg Golson picked up RBIs in the frame before Cao Jie smashed the first homer of his American Association career to extend the lead to its tallest point.

Sean Stutzman posted four straight scoreless innings to start the game before the RailRoaders got to him for a pair of runs in the fifth. Cleburne scored nine times in the sixth with two outs vs. Liu Guoqing, Tyler Matzek and Chen Zhongyang to take a commanding lead.

Cleburne was paced by Angelo Gumbs, who finished with three hits, as well as Trevor Sealey, who racked up a home run, three runs scored and two RBIs.

Matzek, who allowed seven runs (seven earned) in relief, suffered the loss to slip to 3-8 on the year. Mincey earned the win after lasting six. Grider finished the contest with three hits. Dillon Thomas finished with two hits. Cao Jie joined Luo Jinjun as the two members of the Chinese national baseball program who have gone deep this season for Texas.

Texas (20-61) and Cleburne (28-54) finish the series Thursday at 7:05. RHP Miguel Rosario (1-10, 5.75 ERA) is expected to start for Texas vs. RHP Dylan Mouzakes (2-6, 4.99 ERA) for Cleburne. A live broadcast of the game will be available at mixlr.com/TXAirHogs and americanassociationbaseball.tv.
