LOOKING AHEAD:

Binghamton and Rochester renew an old rivalry on Wednesday at the Blue Cross Arena (7:05 ET). The Amerks were 0-2-2-0 on a four-game road swing last week – including a 3-1 loss to the Senators – but have won five of their last six on home ice, where 2004 AHL All-Star goaltender Ryan Miller has posted a 10-2-2 record this season. Jason Dawe, who won a Calder Cup with Sens coach John Paddock in 2000, has 18 points in 19 games since rejoining Rochester last month, while ex-Amerk Denis Hamel has team-leading totals of 19 goals, 19 assists and 38 points for the B-Sens, who are 2-8-1-0 in their last 11 away from home. Binghamton's AHL teams are 100-97-20 all-time in the regular season against the Amerks, including the Senators' 5-2-2 mark over the last two years.

Hershey hosts Providence on Wednesday (7:30 ET) in another clash between old AHL rivals. The Bears are 206-166-30 in 402 regular-season contests against the Bruins and their Rhode Island predecessors, the Providence Reds. This year's squads are jockeying for positioning in their respective divisions, with Hershey four points out of first in the East and Providence five back in the Atlantic. Providence is 6-2-4-0 in its last 12 on the road, and is playing a game outside New England for just the fourth time all year. Bruins Matt Herr, Pat Leahy, Brian White and Rich Brennan are former Bears; Hershey newcomer Dennis Bonvie played for the B's in 2001-02.
