AHL Announces Suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League today announced that Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defenseman Robert Bortuzzo, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins right wing Jesse Boulerice and Norfolk Admirals left wing Stefano Giliati have each been suspended for one (1) game as a result of their actions in a game between the teams on Dec. 11.
In addition, both the Penguins and Admirals have been fined an undisclosed amount.
All three players were suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline).
Bortuzzo and Boulerice will miss Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's game tonight (Dec. 15) vs. Abbotsford. Giliati will miss Norfolk's game on Friday (Dec. 17) vs. Albany.
The AHL also announced that Chicago Wolves right wing Darren Haydarhas been suspended for three (3) games as a result of his actions in a game at Abbotsford on Dec. 11.
Haydar was assessed a game misconduct under AHL Rule 40.4 for physical abuse of an official (Category III), resulting in an automatic three-game suspension.
Haydar will miss Chicago's games tonight (Dec. 15) and Friday (Dec. 17) at Rockford and Saturday (Dec. 18) vs. Milwaukee.
