Reno Bighorns News Release

RENO, NEV.- Reno Bighorns players Blake Ahearn and Andre Emmett were named to the All-NBA D-League teams, it was announced today. Ahearn was named to the All-NBA D-League First Team, while Emmett earned an All-NBA D-League Honorable Mention. Selections are made based on votes by the 16 NBA D-League coaches.

Ahearn played in 37 games with the Bighorns this season averaging 23.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.0 steals per game. During the season, he shot a remarkable 96.2% from the free-throw line, which included a stretch of 110 consecutive made free throws. Ahearn's free-throw streak set the D-League record, and surpassed the NBA record of 97 straight. For his efforts, he was named NBA D-League Co-Performer of the Week on Jan. 3, along with Bighorn teammate Emmett. Ahearn also became the NBA D-League's all-time leading scorer, with 3,804 total points.

Ahearn earned a GATORADE Call-Up from the Utah Jazz on April 9. He is the only member of the All-NBA D-League First Team to still be playing for an NBA team. Ahearn's Jazz are currently battling the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

Emmett played in 35 games for the Bighorns, starting 32 of them. He averaged 23.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. Emmett was called-up by the New Jersey Nets on February 14. He averaged 2.2 points and 7.5 minutes in six games with the Nets.

Ahearn and Emmett were also both selected to play in the sixth annual D-League All-Star game this February in Orlando.
