Sioux City Musketeers News Release

The Sioux City Musketeers are riding high after the organization clinched its second consecutive berth in the Clark Cup Playoffs on Sunday evening at Tyson Events Center.

Brad Robbins and Kyle Criscuolo scored goals in the shootout while Matt Skoff stopped both Buccaneer attempts as the Muskies edged Des Moines 3-2 in a shootout to set off the celebration.

The win capped off a weekend where the Musketeers went a perfect 3-0-0 and took all six points.

Overall, the team has won a season high five straight games and Sioux City became the 5th team in the Western Conference to clinch a spot in the USHL's post-season.

While a date in the playoffs is forthcoming, the Musketeers still have four games remaining in their regular season schedule and they have two of those four games this coming weekend.

Sioux City will close out the home portion of its schedule on Friday, April 6th when the team hosts the rival Omaha Lancers at Tyson Events Center at 7:00 PM.

Sioux City is 3-3-0 this season against the Western Conference leading Lancers which includes taking three straight games over Omaha.

The team, however, has struggled against the 6th place Storm, with Tri-City holding a 5-2-0 record against Sioux City this season.

PLAYOFF INFORMATION

With the Muskies clinching a spot last Sunday, the 2012 Clark Cup Playoffs are right around the corner. Season Ticket Holders have been mailed information regarding the 2011-12 Playoff ticket package.

Those forms are due on Friday, April 13th.

The Musketeers first round of the playoffs will be held at the IBP Ice Center but it's possible that Sioux City will play all 3 of its first round games on the road.

Hypothetically, if Sioux City plays the Waterloo Black Hawks in the first round then the Musketeers will host one of the three first round games. If the team opens up against the higher seeded Fargo Force, then all 3 games will be played in Fargo.

If the season ended today, Sioux City would play Fargo in the first round of the playoffs. The first round begins on April 16th.

For more playoff ticketing information call the Musketeer Office at 712-252-2116.
