After Back-To-Back Wins, Dirt Dawgs Hit Bump

Old Orchard Beach News Release

Coming into the game against Pittsfield Suns at Doyle Field on Thursday night, the Dirt Dawgs were looking good, as they had won back-to-back games. However, their new-found success was stifled by an amazing pitching performance by Shane Beauchemin, who only gave up one-hit. He didn't pitch a complete game because he had to be removed from the game after surpassing the FCBL pitch count rule following the 7th inning.

Ross Julian broke up the no-hit bid in Beauchemin's final inning. Connor McDavitt, in his first at-bat after being inserted as a defensive replacement in the top of the 8th, got the Dirt Dawgs only other hit, a single in the top of the 9th.

The Dirt Dawgs lost 6-0 with Jeff Andersen recording the loss, giving up 4 earned runs in 6 innings pitch. Catch the Dirt Dawgs at Doyle next Monday against the Seacoast Mavericks as they face them for the first time this season.
