AFL Offering Game Tickets to Families of Armed Services Personnel
January 22, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release
NEW YORK â To continue to show the Arena Football League's support for the men and women serving in the armed forces at home and overseas, all AFL teams are offering special discounts and, when available, complimentary tickets for all armed forces personnel and their families to any AFL game for the entire 2004 season.
"This remains a challenging time for our country and we are thankful for the men and women of our armed forces," said Commissioner David Baker. "We are pleased to be able to offer this promotion, which in some small way, may provide a measure of support for the families of our servicemen and women during an otherwise stressful time. The AFL is proud to have the U.S. Army as one of its principle sponsors."
To take advantage of this offer, armed forces personnel and/or their families will be asked to present a military ID at their local team's box office to receive the tickets.
For non-military personnel, the AFL provides two fan-friendly programs to facilitate purchases of both individual and group tickets for AFL games. The League's toll-free ticket number -- 866-AFL-TIXS -- provides fans with a direct connection to team ticket offices.
The new online "Group Ticket Window" will ease the burden on group leaders who organize AFL group-ticket purchases. For buyers and organizers of group-ticket purchases, team-specific Web sites will streamline the purchasing process and help group leaders keep track of their AFL outing. The "Group Ticket Window," currently used by many NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB teams, is accessible through individual AFL team Web sites.
