Macon Knights News Release
MACON, Ga. â The League office of arenafootball2 released the full 2004 schedule today. The Fifth Anniversary season of af2 features an 18-week, 200-game schedule with 25 teams competing all across the country.
Highlighting the Macon Knights schedule is a rematch of last year's ArenaCup Championship game as the Tulsa Talons will visit the Macon Coliseum in the Knights' season opener on April 10th. The Knights will also face the rest of their 2003 playoff opponents as they meet up with the Albany Conquest, Florida Firecats and Tennessee Valley Vipers.
The Knights own a 15-9 record against the seven teams on their 2004 schedule that they have played before and will meet Louisville, Manchester (formerly Mohegan) and Memphis all for the first time. Of the Knights' 10 opponents, six were 2003 playoff participants (Albany, Cape Fear, Florida, Manchester, Tennessee Valley and Tulsa).
The Knights will compete in the American Conference South Division along with Birmingham, Columbus and Florida (Cape Fear has moved to the Northeast Division). The Knights will face each divisional opponent once at home and once on the road, with the exception of playing Florida twice at home and once on the road.
The Macon Knights â 2003 American Conference Champions â begin their fourth season of play in April and are looking to make the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season. Season tickets are on sale now for as low as $48. For more information, or to purchase season tickets, call the Knights office at (478) 314-3000 or visit www.maconknights.com.
