Arkansas Aeros News Release
DALLAS - The Arkansas Aeros are a perfect 11-0 against American Basketball Association teams not from Dallas thus far this season.
Unfortunately for the No. 1 team in the latest ABA Power Rankings, they are 0-2 against Dallas' own Texas Tycoons after a 125-116 loss Sunday night.
The Aeros (11-2) had come into the contest on a seven-game winning streak after a 142-122 loss back on Nov. 16 to the Tycoons (10-4) who came into Sunday's match-up having lost their last three of four.
Jarred Merrill led four Aeros with 20-plus points in finishing with a game-high 29 followed by Daryan Selvy's 27. Merrill also led all rebounders with 16.
Jerome Rogers led seven Tycoons in double figures with 25, including a 12 of 14 effort at the free-throw line.
The Aeros will look to stay at the top of the league standings Friday when they finish a five-game road trip at Pine Bluff when they meet the Arkansas RiverCatz. The RiverCatz were named Sunday the No. 8 team in the ABA Power Rankings.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
