Aeros Force Shootout, Fall 5-4

HOUSTON --- Casey Wellman scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season to cap a three-goal comeback and help the Houston Aeros earn a point in a 5-4 shootout loss to Oklahoma City Saturday at Toyota Center.

Dennis Endras made 15 saves in the second and third periods and overtime for Houston, who drops to 5-1-0-3. Mark Arcobello scored the deciding goal in the second round of the shootout to give the Barons the win.

Wellman tied the game at 4-4 at 2:09 in the third period on a power play goal.

The Aeros trailed 3-0 after the first period but chipped away at the lead with second period goals by Carson McMillan at 2:46 and Justin Fontaine at 9:39 in the period.

After a Teemu Hartikainen goal at 11:54 made it 4-2, Jarod Palmer cut the lead to 4-3 with his first goal of the season at 16:35 in the second.

Oklahoma City opened up a 3-0 on first period goals by Josh Green, Hunter Tremblay and Philippe Cornet. Yann Danis made 23 saves and stopped all four shots he saw in the shootout for Oklahoma City.

The Aeros finish their third set of three games in three nights Sunday at Toyota Center against the Charlotte Checkers at 5:05 p.m.

BOMB DROPPINGS Carson McMillan played in his first game after a four-game suspension... Casey Wellman has points in five-straight games (3-2=5) and leads the Aeros with seven goals.
