Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI-The Milwaukee Admirals surrendered two goals in both the second and third periods, while managing just one tally in the game's first 58 minutes as they fell to the San Antonio Rampage 5-3 Thursday night at the Bradley Center. The Admirals have now lost two games in a row after winning their previous four contests.
San Antonio got on the board first when Nate DiCasmirro potted his third goal of the season at the 10:10 mark of the first. Former Admiral Chris Durno took a loose back from in front of the Milwaukee net and fired it off the boards and right to Dicasmirro who beat Admirals goaltender Pekka Rinne before he could slide over to cover the open net.
The Rampage had a number of other opportunites to boost their lead in the first stanza, but Rinne made a number of great saves, including one from lying flat on his back during a scrum in front of the Milwaukee net, and the score remained 1-0 after 20 minutes of play.
A power-play goal by Ryan Caldwell at 8:30 of the second period put the Rampage up 2-0 and Jon DiSalvatore notched his seventh marker of the season when he batted a Matt Murley pass out of mid-air on a two-on-one breakaway with 2:25 remaining in the frame.
The Admirals finally got on the board at the 3:08 mark of the third period when Kelsey Wilson fired a shot from behind the San Antonio net that ricocheted off goaltender David LeNeveu's stick and into the net. The goal coupled with a roughing penalty to Rampage center Curtis Fraser immediately after the goal looked to give the Ads some much needed momentum. However, Milwaukee failed to convert on the man-advantage and David Spina severed any momentum the Admirals might have had with an unassisted goal at 7:17 of the third.
Janne Niskala and Alexander Sulzer would each net goals for Milwaukee in the final 90 seconds of the game, but it was too little too late for the Admirals.
Wilson had his first multi-point game of the season to pace the Milwaukee offense, while DiSalvatore and Murley had a goal and an assist each for the Rampage.
The Admirals are back on the ice tomorrow night when they host the Chicago Wolves at 7:00 pm at the Bradley Center. Fans can purchase tickets by calling Ticketmaster at (414) 276-4545 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Groups of ten or more people receive a minimum of $2 off of each ticket.
