Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ONT. - Hamilton Bulldogs forward Daniel Carr scored and goaltender Mike Condon made 21 saves, but their efforts couldn't put the 'Dogs (16-17-6-0) past the Milwaukee Admirals (20-12-2-3) as Hamilton fell 4-1 on Wednesday night at FirstOntario Centre.
Milwaukee forward Triston Grant opened the scoring on the power play at 12:34 of the first period, with assists from defenceman Anthony Bitetto and goaltender Magnus Hellberg.
Less than four minutes later, Admirals forward Austin Watson made it 2-0, again on the power play, assisted by forwards Brendan Leipsic and Viktor Arvidsson.
With 1:09 left in the opening frame, Hamilton forward Daniel Carr cut the deficit in half with a slap shot from the point for his seventh goal of the season, assisted by forward Gabriel Dumont and defenceman Darren Dietz.
After a scoreless middle frame, Ads forward Zach Budish re-established his team's two-goal lead and made it a 3-1 game just over a minute into the third period, with assists from forwards Felix Girard and Richard Clune.
Hamilton outshot Milwaukee 11-7 in the final stanza, but Milwaukee forward Pontus Aberg sealed the 'Dogs fate with a 4-1 empty-net goal with 1:04 to go. Assists on the play went to Leipsic and forward Colton Sissons.
Condon's counterpart Hellberg stopped 21 of 22 shots faced for the Admirals in the win.
Hamilton went 0-for-3 on the power play, while Milwaukee was 2-for-2 with a man advantage.
