Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI--Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today that the team will open their 2010-11 season on Saturday, October 9th when they play host to the Abbotsford Heat at the Bradley Center. The Ads will play an 80-game, unbalanced schedule that will conclude over six months later with a visit from the Grand Rapids Griffins on Sunday, April 10th.

"The 2010-11 season will be another exciting year for us, both on and off the ice," noted Greenberg, who begins his sixth season as the Ads President. "With all of the fun and entertaining promotions off the ice and an excellent team on the ice, we will continue to provide our fans with a fantastic experience when they visit the Bradley Center."

At the home opener, all fans in attendance will receive a schedule magnet of the 2010-11 season, courtesy of Old Orchard Juice and Pick n' Save, while the Village People will perform in a post-game concert on Friday, December 3. The team's popular FM106 Country Music night and the rest of the promotional schedule will be released at a future date.

Just one new team will grace the Admirals schedule this season: the Oklahoma City Barons. The AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, the Barons begin their first season in the league and will make their inaugural trip to the Bradley Center on Sunday, December 12, while the Ads travel to Oklahoma City for the first time on November 21.

March is the busiest month of the season for the Ads, as the team will play 15 contests during the third month with eight of those games taking place at home and seven coming on the road. December is the next busiest month with 14 games, while April is the least populated with just six contests, all of which will be within the first ten days.

Home Schedule

Under the tutelage of fourth-year Head Coach Lane Lambert, the Admirals will play 30 of their 40 home games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and they will do battle with 13 of the 29 other AHL teams at the Bradley Center this season.

For the tenth consecutive season, the Milwaukee Admirals will play in the AHL's West Division in the Western Conference. Joining the Ads in the West Division include the Chicago Wolves, Houston Aeros, Peoria Rivermen, Rockford IceHogs, San Antonio Rampage, Texas Stars, and new league member Oklahoma City Barons, the primary minor league affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers.

Milwaukee will play 54 of their 80 games against opponents from their own division, including ten match-ups each with the Wolves, Rivermen, and IceHogs with five games at home and five on the road. The Admirals will take on Houston, Texas, and Oklahoma City a total of six times each and will play San Antonio eight times.

The Ads remaining 26 games will involve teams from the North Division, with eight of those contests coming against the Grand Rapids Griffins, and four each against the Lake Erie Monsters, Manitoba Moose, and the Abbotsford Heat. Milwaukee will also play the Toronto Marlies and the Hamilton Bulldogs two games apiece. The lone team in the North that the Admirals will not play is the Rochester Americans.

Just as most previous seasons, Friday will be the most popular night for the Admirals, as the team will hit the BC ice 14 times for Friday affairs throughout the season. Sundays are the next most frequent date with ten games, while the team will play six times on both Saturday and Wednesday and twice on Tuesday and Thursday.

The Admirals longest homestand this year will be six games, beginning with a 5:00 pm game on Sunday, March 27 against San Antonio and ending on Friday, April 8th against the Texas Stars. No single month is loaded down with home games for the Ads, as they play seven contests at the Bradley Center in December, January, and February and then have eight in March.

Road Schedule

The Admirals will tie a franchise record road trip when they embark on ten straight games away from the Bradley Center from November 10 to November 28, which includes the team's annual Texas swing over Thanksgiving. The saving grace on the trip is that the team will be home for five days between games three and four, so the swing can be divided into a three-game trip and a seven-game jaunt.

As with last season the Ads will play a big chunk of their road games early in the season. During October and November the team will play 17 contests away from the BC, while having just six home games, and they have 24 road contests prior to the first of the year. The Admirals hope that the early travel will pay dividends in the end when ten of the squad's last 12 games take play.

Bradley Center Game Times

With the exception of a 7:30 pm starts on Saturday, December 11 and Saturday, March 5, all Admirals home games Monday through Saturday will begin at 7:00 pm. Also, aside from a 4:00 pm start on Sunday, November 7, all Sunday games will begin at 5:00 pm.

Tickets

Individual tickets for the 2010-11 season will go on sale at a future date. However, season tickets are now on sale, starting at just $145. For more information, or to purchase season tickets, fans can call the Admirals office at (414) 227-0550.
