Inland Empire 66ers News Release

San Bernardino, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino were no-hit for 8.2 innings on Sunday against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes before Angels top prospect Jo Adell lifted at two run homer to ruin history; the Quakes still earned an 8-2 win and a two-games-to-one series win. Dean Kremer (3-2) was especially impressive for the Quakes on the mound as the Stockton native tossed six no-hit frames allowing only a walk while fanning a season-best ten batters.

The Quakes (22-28) got two runs in the third when Nick Yarnall doubled off Sixers' starter Erik Manoah (1-4) and then came home on Gavin Lux's triple. Lux then scored on Monoah's wild pitch. Rancho made it 3-0 when Connor Wong launched a solo shot to left in the sixth, his 11th of the year. After Kremer went the first six Ryan Mosely tossed 1.1 perfect innings of relief for Rancho. The Quakes blew it open in the top of the ninth with scoring five runs highlighted by two-run homers by Cody Thomas and Gavin Lux; each player hit two homers in the series. Jason Richman (SV, 3) had tossed a perfect inning of relief but with two outs in the ninth, on the cusp of the first nine-inning no-hitter in Quakes history, Richman walked Inland Empire's (25-25) Jamai Jones. Adell then launched an opposite field homer to right, his second in six games since his promotion from Low-A Burlington. The blast blew apart the no-hitter and shutout.

The 66ers open a series at Lancaster Monday at 2:05 pm. The contest can be heard live at 66ers.com.
