ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Trent Daavettila dished out a pair of assists and Daniel Spence earned his first career ECHL victory on 21 saves, helping the Colorado Eagles defeat the Alaska Aces, 4-2 before 4,720 fans at Sullivan Arena on Saturday.

The Aces claimed four of six points available against Colorado, who seized first place in the Pacific Division. Johan Gustafsson made 26 saves in net for Alaska, while Bryan Cameron and Ryan Walters scored in the first and second period, respectively.

Alaska fell to 3-2-1 on the current nine-game homestand.

Cameron, one night after ending a 19-game goal scoring drought, buried his second in as many games on a rebound at 5:19 of the first period for a 1-0 lead, after Spence kicked away Colten Hayes' blast. But penalty trouble led to an Aces deficit, beginning with Brett Kulak's power play goal at 7:57 on a bid from the right circle.

Just 2:31 later, Daavettila's second assist in the period set up Collin Bowman's redirection from between the circles and the Aces trailed for the rest of the game. Jordan Kwas, formerly of the UAA Seawolves program, scored his fifth goal of the season at 2:38 of the second period for a 3-1 cushion, on a set up at the crease from Chris Knowlton.

Walters brought the Aces back to within a goal at 6:34 on a 50-foot wrister that fooled Spence from the right wing. But Vitalijs Pavlovs stashed a rebound at 1:28 of the third period for a 4-2 Colorado lead, and the Aces fell short in sustaining pressure in the final mintues of the game.

Colorado won only for the second time in four seasons at Sullivan Arena.
