Reno Aces News Release

First pitch from Las Vegas Ballpark is slated for 7:05 p.m. PT.

On the Edge:

- The Reno Aces moved 2.5 games back of the Tacoma Rainiers in Triple-A West with its 14-5 win against the Las Vegas Aviators.

- Over the last four games, 13 of the Aces' 14 pitchers to come out of the bullpen have not allowed an earned run. In 17 combined innings of work, those 13 relievers have surrendered just one unearned tally on nine hits with five walks. Reno's bullpen rides an 11.1-inning scoreless streak into tonight's contest.

- Cooper Hummel recorded his fourth-consecutive contest with at least two hits. The Aces' utilityman continued his hot streak in September with a 3-for-4 performance at the dish with a trio of RBIs and two runs scored. In 10 appearances this month, Hummel is slashing .496/.500/.857 with a trio of homers, 14 RBIs and 11 runs scored.

- Jamie Ritchie jumped out to a three-game hit streak with a single in the third frame.

- Juniel Querecuto increased his hitting streak to six games with a base knock in the third frame.

- Drew Ellis reached base safely in his last 17 games with the Aces since July 10, slapping a three-run double in the third. Ellis' three RBIs are the most since Aug. 14 with Arizona against San Diego, where he also knocked in a trio of runs.

- Jake Hager registered a hit for the sixth-straight game with his single in the top of the third. The Aces' shortstop also recorded his 300th career hit in last night's contest.

- Jose Herrera reached base safely for the eighth-straight game with his walk in the third.

- Alek Thomas went on a three-game hit streak with his single in the fifth and recorded his third-consecutive contest with a run scored.

- Ildemaro Vargas extended his hitting streak to six games with his RBI double in the fifth frame. The 30-year-old also smacked his fourth home run of September, more than any other month this season.

Lead Us Out of the Night:

- Edgar Arredondo will look to get back on track after dropping his last two starts. The right-hander had not allowed a run in eight straight frames prior to his Aug. 31 start against Sacramento. The 24-year-old allowed three runs in back-to-back outings while also getting through three innings of action. In his lone outing against the Aviators, Arredondo tossed a scoreless inning of work while surrendering two hits. The Aces' hurler will receive the starting nod for the seventh time on Monday, posting an 0-2 record with a 4.91 ERA and five strikeouts in 14.2 innings as a spot starter.

- A.J. Puk will make his sixth appearance against Reno this season, marking his first as a starter. In his first five outings, the left-hander allowed seven runs on 14 hits in nine innings of action.

Me and the Sky:

- With Vargas reaching the 500-hit plateau, he has his sights set on breaking two more Aces records. The veteran infielder is nine runs away (264) from breaking Cole Gillespie's record of 272 and eight appearances away (367) from snapping Gillespie's franchise mark of 374 games played. Vargas has 35 stolen bases and 196 RBIs with Reno, needing just one stolen base to tie Evan Frey (36) for fifth in Aces' history and six more RBIs to match Kevin Cron (202) for third all-time.

- Querecuto, with the Aces alone, has recorded 281 base knocks in his three seasons, ranking seventh all-time behind Mike Freeman with 301. The veteran infielder is also nine base knocks away from 900 in his MiLB career and five extra-base hits from 100 in Triple-A.

- Christian Lopes is two doubles away from recording 200 career two-baggers. The Aces' infielder has not recorded a double since Aug. 15 against El Paso. Lopes is also nine runs away from scoring his 300th career run at the Triple-A level.

- Alek Thomas is four runs away from reaching the 200-tally plateau in his professional career.
