SALT LAKE CITY - Salt Lake Bees pitcher Tyler Danish was selected as the Triple-A West Pitcher of the Week by Minor League Baseball today.

Danish allowed a single earned run in seven and two-thirds innings while striking out nine batters during the week. His nine strikeouts were the third highest total for a Triple-A West pitcher and his 1.17 ERA was the lowest for any pitcher with more than six innings pitched.

Since joining the Bees on June 12, Danish has made 24 appearances for Salt Lake with a 4.27 ERA, the second lowest mark on the team amongst pitchers with at least 20 innings thrown. The former Chicago White Sox second round draft pick is in his first year with the Los Angeles Angels organization.

The award is the second consecutive Pitcher of the Week win for the Bees pitching staff. Reliever Ben Rowen was chosen as Triple-A West Pitcher of the Week last week.

The Bees have seven home games left in the 2021 season. Salt Lake hosts Oklahoma City on Monday and Tuesday night with start times at 6:35 p.m. before a road trip to Reno. The team will then return home for the final five home games of the season Sept. 23-27 against Sacramento with fireworks scheduled for postgame on Sept. 24.
