Aces Blast from the Past

Alexandria Aces News Release

The Alexandria Aces have taken yet another step toward a fun-filled 10th Anniversary season. Managing partner Steve Spielman finalized a radio contract Wednesday with Oldies 104.3 FM KEZP, to serve as the flagship station for all of the Aces play-by-play action during the 2003 season.

"The Aces are excited to be back on Oldies 104.3 once again and we look forward to a successful season working with Mark Jones and his staff," Spielman said.

The station's 46-mile coverage radius will ensure fans can pick up Aces broadcasts beyond Fort Polk, Opelousas and the entire Cenla area.

"I've been really impressed with the new ownership. They're better managed now and we at KEZP are proud to be involved with the Aces organization," station owner Mark Jones said.

Aces Director of Media Relations Damon Sunde will handle the play by play for all Aces games and will be joined in the broadcast booth during home games by veteran broadcaster Lyn Rollins.

"We look forward to working with the Aces and putting people in the stands. Hopefully fans will bring their radios out to the ballpark and listen to the game," Jones said.

The Central Baseball League, preparing for its 10th season of independent baseball, will play a 96-game schedule between May and August 2003.

The 10-member league has teams located in Amarillo, Edinburg, Rio Grande Valley (Harlingen), San Angelo, Robstown and Ft. Worth, Texas; Alexandria and Shreveport, La.; Springfield/Ozark, Mo.; and Jackson, Miss.
