
Abilene places Mier on Inactive List

Abilene, TX - In a pair of roster moves today, the Prairie Dogs acquired SS Adam De La Garza from the San Angelo Colts and placed C Jessie Mier on the Inactive list. Mier, who suffered a serious hand injury on the final play of Tuesday's 7-6 loss at McAllen, is expected to be out for 6-8 weeks. The Pomona California native hit .194 (6 hits in 31 at-bats) in 10 games as the starting catcher for the Prairie Dogs.
SS Adam De La Garza hit .286 in 15 games for the Colts this season. Adam is in his third season of professional baseball after spending the previous two seasons with the Amarillo Dillas of the American Association. Adam's best professional season came in his rookie season when he hit .305 with seven home runs and 55 RBIs. De La Garza is expected to play shortstop full time for Abilene.
The Prairie Dogs return to Walt Driggers field on Monday June 11th for a two game series with the Edinburg Roadrunners. Fans are encouraged to bring three non-perishable food items with them to the game on Monday as part of the Food Bank of West Central Texas food drive. In exchange, fans will receive a General Admission ticket for $3
