Weekend Recap

Your Aberdeen Wings had a quick turn around this past week playing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The Wings started the holiday week off with a trip to Bismarck Wednesday night. This was just the second time this season that that Wings faced the Bobcats. Aberdeen was on the short end of a 4-1 score. Netting the only goal for Aberdeen was Heinz Koster, with Peter Krieger and Mike Parnell teaming up for the assists. Thanksgiving day the Wings welcomed division leading Austin to the Odde Ice Center where their offensive struggle continued dropping a 5-1 decision. This time Mike Parnell was the goal scorer with the assists going to Tommy Miller and Justin Parizek. Friday night was a different story however as the Wings came out hot and skated to a 4-3 Win over the Bruins. The Wings used 2 quick goals from Tyler Cisar and Joe Sullivan to jump ahead. The assists on the goals came from Erik Baskin, Mike Parnell, Justin Parizek and Peter Krieger. The Bruins battled back to tie things up heading into the locker room. They then scored the only goal of the 2nd period to take a 3-2 lead into the final 20. Mike Parnell was able to tie things up at the 6:27 mark of the period with the assist going to Joe Sullivan. Justin Parizek saved the best for last as he dramatically scored from the near side boards top shelf with only 44 sec. left on the clock. Assists on the game winner went to Dylan Dailey and Peter Krieger. Marcus Zelzer was in goal for the Win making 37 shots on 40 saves.
