"A-Team" dancers support "Read Across America Day"

LOS ANGELES - "A-Team" dancers Becky and Jessica spent Thursday, March 1, at Limerick Elementary School supporting the 10th Anniversary of the National Education Association's "Read Across America Day." The two Avengers representatives took the opportunity to read their favorite Dr. Seuss book to over 200 children in the school's auditorium.

"Reading is so important to the future of America's children," Becky said. "I enjoyed reading to the children and I look forward to taking part in the Read Across America program again."

The 10th Anniversary of NEA's Read Across America marks the nation's largest reading celebration. All around the nation, reading celebrations big and small are putting the joy of reading center stage. From weeklong Seussian celebrations to high school poetry jams, NEA members are making this a record year for reading.

NEA's Read Across America is a year-long program designed to get kids excited about reading, culminates every year on Dr. Theodore "Ted" Seuss's birthday on March 2. Last year, reading events in all 50 states attracted more than 45 million readers of all ages.

The Read Across America program is sponsored by a 2.7-million-member National Education Association and Dr. Seuss Enterprises along with 45 national partner organizations.

The Avengers will kick off their eighth season in the 21-year-old Arena Football League at STAPLES Center on Sunday, March 4, versus the San Jose SaberCats.
